"We have a God who is relentlessly for us." When my pastor made this statement, it struck a chord with me. In the struggle to be holy, it is easy to believe that all God can see of us is our faults and failures, and is disappointed with us. But that is not so. Our God pursues us with all the vengeance of a man whose beloved has been captured by an enemy, and whom He has set out to rescue. He will not relent until He has reclaimed us as His own. The entire Bible is filled with stories of how the Lord refuses to give up on His people, even after they have earned His punishment for rebellion. I whisper this truth to myself when I feel that I'm not worthy of His love: "My God is relentlessly for me." Romans 8:31

What a beautiful thought that "God is relentlessly for us." And a beautiful poem as well. Could I detect elements of Psalm 139 woven through it? :) That is one of my (many) favorite Psalms! Thanks for sharing!

Yes, Psalm 139 naturally came to mind when I was writing the poem. That psalm has always been one of my favorites too! Thanks for commenting!

Meet YaashaNone of my life has gone the way it was "supposed to go," but I don't love my life any less because of the hardships and new directions. I see so much unexpected good in it, and I want others to see the good in theirs. Archives
