The Sister's War

A woman was never meant to be passive. Even when excluded from actual combat in war, women throughout the Bible are upheld as strong and courageous examples. A woman’s fight may not be primarily among physical foes, but she is encouraged, along with men, to be a powerful adversary of spiritual foes.

One of the ways in which a woman fights is in the realm of her family. I have already recounted the Daughter’s War. Today I will highlight the Sister’s War.

A few Changes On Their Way

Just thought I'd let you Ready ladies know that there are a few changes on the way. I have been praying about the direction of my writing, and for a long time now, I've been putting the bulk of my energies toward my fiction blog at YaashaMoriah.com. I've decided to continue that trend with more focus. This means that I'll be posting on Ready For Him Today once per week, instead of twice, and will not be as active on my Ready For Him Today social media (though I will keep an eye on it).

The Daughter's War

When I was a little girl, I was disappointed that I was not a boy. Boys got to go on adventures, perform bold and daring feats, fight heroically for justice, and lead others. I especially wanted to be a warrior: to oppose injustice, uphold mercy, and protect others.

Yet all my understanding of Biblical womanhood was that women were supposed to be good housekeepers and play a supportive role to the men in their lives. But, frankly, that sounded quite boring in comparison to the man’s role.

That was before I understood that God made women to be warriors too. We are called to realms into which men can never enter or wage spiritual war.
